ALERT! : Car Park Safety! As a community, we need to be mindful of the increase in the number of electric and hybrid vehicles, leading to an increased risk of accidents occurring due to the lack of engine noise. When cars are backing out, drivers should be mindful to check for cross traffic behind them, meaning pedestrians as well as other vehicles. It has been brought to our attention that EV and Hybrid vehicles are silent, and due diligence should be observed by both drivers and pedestrians to avoid any unforeseen accidents
New Projector in Church.
As some of you may be aware, a few weeks ago, one of the projectors in the church failed. In the interim, we were using a loan machine from Toc H. We have now purchased and installed a new machine, which the generous bequest of the late Shirley Martin has funded.
The Parish thanks Shirley and her family again for their generous gift and acknowledges Toc H for generously loaning us a machine in our time of need.
Singing Group Next meets: Monday, 15th September, 3:30pm to 4:30pm as normal. We hope to see you there!
AMUA September Gathering on Monday 22nd September
This will be the 36th Birthday of the Branch. We will gather at 10am for Morning Tea (self funded) at Cafe 191 Bribie Island Community Arts Centre, Sunderland Dr. Presentations of Certificates will be made, and everyone is most welcome.

AMUA Brisbane Diocese: Family Holiday - October 2025
The AMUA Brisbane Diocese will once again offer a family holiday to a family in need in 2026.
Should you know of a family that would benefit from this opportunity, please contact the office by phone or email: bribieisland@anglicanchurchsq.org.au
by the end of October this year. The family will be able to choose when they wish to take the holiday, preferably not in school holidays. Please be assured that family names and circumstances are kept in total confidence.

How to reduce your power bill – talk by John Oxenford on September 28 @ 2pm.
During this Season of Creation, we are asked to look at ways to care for Creation and reduce our footprint of disturbance. One of our largest footprints comes from the energy we consume in our homes. Join John to discuss where the greatest uses of energy are in our homes and possible ways to reduce that energy use. If we can reduce our power bill, we also reduce our footprint of disturbance.

Thank you to everyone who has already placed their name on the Volunteer List. We are still looking for bakery items, confectionery, jams, and craft makers. These items are always our biggest sellers. We are selling Devonshire Teas this year.
We are also looking for card tables to use at the jumble sale and Di is hoping to borrow an extra 6. If you can help, please deliver them to Cooinda from 11am on Friday, the 19th September or reach out to her if you have problems getting them to the church. Please remember to make your mark on the bottom of the table so it can be collected after church on Sunday, the 21st.
If you can donate ingredients for scone making, now is the time to talk to Marjorie, as we only have a couple of weeks for our bakers to collect/prepare ingredients and to bake. If you are a great baker or scone maker, Marjorie desperately needs your help. She will also accept pikelets, should we have some ladies willing to make these instead of scones. Those people who have offered to donate baking ingredients should contact Marjorie as soon as possible to ask what she needs.
Donations will be accepted from Friday, 19 Sep at Cooinda. If you need help in transporting your items to Cooinda, please contact Di or Rhonda to make suitable arrangements for collection
Donations can include plants, Manchester-related accessories (such as shoes, bags, belts, scarves, etc.), jewellery, craft and décor items, kitchenware, prints, bric-a-brac, tools, pet items, toys, and games.
Unfortunately, we cannot take items such as clothing, books, CDs/DVDs, electrical items, or large furniture pieces.
People are needed to help set up wooden tables from 11am Friday, 19th, at Cooinda to allow our sorters/pricers to prepare the goods for sale. Help is also needed with setting up of tents, card tables and chairs, and the portable BBQ in the outside area on Saturday, from 6.30-7.00am, as well as to assist at 1pm following the Sale to help with clearing up. Attention Craft Makers!!: If you are interested in providing any ideas for saleable craft to be included in future Church stalls, please bring a sample of your “craft/idea” to our next meeting. We will tentatively book our “Show and Tell” meeting, to be held on the first Monday of each month at 10am at a “to be advised coffee shop” Our aim is to have an “always ready” stockpile of craft for our next Church Stall or Jumble Sale. SEPTEMBER is the BMF and BCA donation money box return month. We would appreciate that all donation boxes be returned to the Narthex by month end to be counted.
Tafadzwa, the student we support, is doing his Master's degree in Metallurgy at the University of Zimbabwe. He is completing his year long work experience at a large gold mine and is well regarded by his supervisors. I pray we will have enough funding for him to do his final year in 2026, as he is doing so well. We are also financing 2 school children through private schools, as the government schools' standards are abysmal. Again, we pray for sponsors next year.
We continue with our goal of "Helping the Poorest of the Poor gain Dignity through Self-Sufficiency."

Linen Roster - We have a vacancy on the linen roster for September. Currently, Di Thatcher is covering September, and we are hoping that someone would be interested in covering September and helping Di out

Name Badges - If you would like a new name badge, there is a list in the narthex. Please print your name clearly on the list. The cost is $12 per badge, which can be paid when received via the envelope you receive your badge in. Badges will be ordered at the beginning of the month when needed
Donations - There is a box of envelopes in the narthex (with a pen) for use by anyone wishing to give money in the giving box for specific reasons e.g. Retiring Collections, payment for attending functions, purchase of items such as calendars, etc. Please, please, write on the envelope what the money is for, your name and the amount. This will greatly assist the counters to distribute the funds to the correct account.
