Our current Rector is The Rev’d. Bill Crossman who holds qualifications in theology, pharmacy and applied science.

Bill has been Rector of Bribie Island since 2009. Prior to that, he served in the Diocese of Brisbane in the Parishes of Texas/Inglewood, Caloundra and Kingaroy. He is currently an Archbishop’s Examining Chaplain, and has previously held appointments as Area Dean of Bunya, member of the Professional Standards Committee, Chair of the Clergy Summer School Organizing Committee, Secretary of the Diocesan ABM Committee and as a Diocesan Nominator.
Before coming to the Diocese of Brisbane, he served in Papua New Guinea with the Anglican Board of Mission (ABM) as National Health Secretary for the Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea, and for a time as Acting General Secretary.
He was ordained Deacon (1990) and Priest (1991) in the Diocese of North Queensland where he was Deacon-in-Charge and subsequently Rector of the Parish of West Mackay before going to Papua New Guinea.
Prior to ordination, he served for twenty years in the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps.
He is married to Libbie who is also a Priest. She is Priest-in-Charge of the Parish of Freshwater, an Honorary Canon of St. John’s Cathedral, and Provincial President of MU Australia (Mothers’ Union). They have two married children and three and a half grandchildren.
